You Deserve a Beautiful, Durable Smile
Dental Implants in Carlsbad
Our Approach to Implant Dentistry
Having a complete smile is not only essential to the function of your teeth and gums but to your confidence and general quality of life. Our doctors can replace single teeth, multiple teeth, and an entire arch if necessary in order to complete your smile and rejuvenate your oral health. In the past, dentists were only able to replace teeth above the gum line, but now we can replace everything down to the root structure using dental implants to restore your smile’s function to the fullest—helping you get back to eating, talking, and smiling with confidence.
Benefits of Dental Implants
Dental implants are capable of becoming virtually indistinguishable from your natural teeth, providing an authentic and reliable replacement option for missing teeth. Benefits of dental implants include:
High success rate.
On average, the procedure for dental implants has a success rate as high as 98 percent, even for patients who have had implants for more than 10 years!
Durable and sturdy.
Dental implants allow you to experience your fullest biting force possible due to the fact that they’re integrated with your jawbone.
Improved appearance.
Missing teeth can cause the cheeks to sag as the jaw bone begins to deteriorate, and the underlying facial structure begins to collapse.. Replacing the roots can help stop this loss of bone and prevent early signs of aging.

Implant Placement
Once we’ve determined that you’re a good candidate for dental implants, you’ll come in for your first appointment. We’ll give you local anesthesia to numb your mouth, and provide you with sedation options for your comfort. We will then make an incision in your gums to place your implant or implants. Over the next few months, your jawbone fuses around the implant; this process is called “osseointegration.”
Placing the Abutment
After osseointegration is complete, you’ll return to our office for abutment placement. An abutment is a connecting piece over the post of the implant that will securely hold your new tooth restoration in place.
Restoration
A final appointment is needed to place your custom restorations, whether that includes crowns, bridges, or dentures. One of our doctors will place your restorations onto your implants and you’ll have a sturdy, durable new smile with new, natural looking teeth.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much do dental implants cost?
The cost will vary depending on your specific needs (do you need to replace all your teeth or just one or two?) and the type of restoration you choose. Some patients may need to increase the amount of bone volume in their jaw via a bone graft beforehand, or make room to place implants with a sinus lift. These preparatory procedures may affect your total cost. To learn more about your dental implant options and total estimated cost, schedule a consultation with us today.
How long can dental implants last?
With proper care, dental implants can last upwards of 30 years or more. They’re the most reliable choice for replacing missing teeth and a long-term investment in your overall oral health and wellness.
How do I know if I’m a candidate for dental implants?
Dental implants are a good option for patients missing one or multiple teeth. Candidates for dental implants should have enough bone and supporting structure to anchor the implants in place. Even with missing bone, however, there are still preparatory procedures we can do like bone grafts to ensure you can still receive dental implants.
